Title: [Spione] - Card Number
Post by: Hans Chung-Otterson on July 25, 2013, 02:51:33 PM
This is a super basic question, but I've facilitated Spione twice and haven't found an answer in the text: Do non-Principles have a Card Number that they add into the mix in Flashpoint? The rules proper never state this, but the Flashpoint example shows drawing 1 additional card for each non-Principal player.

Thought it was in the rules somewhere, but I won't argue.

Yeah, the number of cards pulled into the Flashpoint array is always this:

Principal's current Card Number + Other Principal's current Card Number + 1 per other person at the table.

Don't forget that Card Numbers often increase during play. When the Principals are old or German or both, when the KGB and/or CIA are involved, then the array can become surprisingly lengthy.

Best, Ron

It's not easy to find it in the rules, it's told only in an example at page 151:
"The people running John and Horst both have Card Numbers
equal to 2, and the other two people have Card Numbers equal
to 1
, for a total of 6.
