Let It Go - after she tosses her cloak away, see how she walks differently. Analogy: there you sit, gazing at all those fields and boxes to fill in on that character sheet, with little fractions to calculate and niche-based details to specify - like trudging up the snowbank in the first few seconds of the song, isn't it?

Toss the cloak away.

And the glove? The one glove? I feel bad about encouraging this line of thought, but - feck, Ron, why are these analogies so bloody infectious!

In the story, the gloves reduce her contact with others, to facilitate her suppression of emotion. In this scene, she's already lost one, and voluntarily taking off the other means she's letting her emotions - and her powers - be expressed, literally and symbolically. Not subtle or needing much interpretation.

And sadly, yes, directly transferrable to the issues of role-playing with others, in our hobby. Way too much indie-identity, self-congratulatory bullshit is easily described as throwing away the cloak without having previously taken off the gloves.

I was just thinking suppression of power, like maybe players taking off the glove(s) to be full creative partners with the GM. Leave it to you to have an even more disturbing association to point out.

ahhh!  This endorsement of Disney sorceresses + my maritime musings for my first Sorcerer setting = me diving too deep into the internet's collection of Ursula the sea witch inspired fan art.

I'll share one little pearl I might even printout at use a colour book mark in my Annotated Sorcerer.
