Hi!

I was reading again old Forge threads for my Sorcerer game and I discovered that, in all the changes that happened to the forum in the last years, some posts.. disappeared.
Take a look, for example, to Art-Deco Melodrama, part 2 , there are 7 missing posts in that thread.
Luckily, there is a solution, when this happen, all you have to do is click on the "print" button on the page, to change the page into the printable version, and all the missing posts return.

P.S.: one of the reasons I was reading old posts is that I was searching for some good example of nasty demons (or nasty example of good demons, if you prefer...), and I did read a lot of citations of the name "Veniamin", one of the PC's demons in the "Modern Necromacy" game.  I searched for the demon's stat, but I couldn't find them. All I could find was this description:
"Beth's character is astounding: Victoria Carson, an almost-completely paralyzed survivor of a car accident, and a dedicated altruist and legal/political power-broker. Her demon is the remains of her boyfriend, killed in the same crash, best described as the uber-Possessor ... with Link, Hop, Cloak, Travel, and two sorts of Perception that permit it to zip about, host to host, and do what Victoria wants as she monitors its activities. It eventually bulked up to Power 8 to be capable of all the stuff she wanted it to do. Its Desire is Vengeance, and its Need is justice (!)".

Was this demon ever posted with more details, and I was simply not able to find it with my search-fu? Ron, do you remember if you posted the detailed description of the powers somewhere, and if not, do you still remember after all this time how they worked?

(a nasty possessor with link and hop could be exactly what I need, and I could use some ideas about how to make it even more nasty...)

Hi Moreno,

I have all the notes and sheets from that game, but not in an easily accessible place. Here's what I remember.

Veniamin's abilities: Hop, Link, Cloak, Hold, Perception, Perception, and Travel. Its scores were standard: Stamina 7, Will 8, Lore 7, Power 8. Its Travel was defined as "back to Victoria," so wherever it might be, it could return to her instantaneously. Or maybe it was a little less omni-powerful than that, but I don't remember the details. Unfortunately, I don't remember the precise specifications of Perception, which mattered greatly. I think that one of them effectively amplified the Link so that Victoria could tap into Veniamin's profound perception of its local situation, which was still visual, via Link. The other one may have had to do with location awareness, so that the demon could target its Travel-return successfully, although I remember it being pretty precisely and usefully phrased.

Best, Ron

Its Desire is Vengeance, and its Need is justice (!)
Man, that demon is gunna have issues with itself, let alone it's sorcerer having issues with it!

Even more so: in this game, demons were twisted remnants of the dead, whether actually undead or just weird echoes/imprints, left unspecified. And this one was her husband who'd been killed in the same car crash which had crippled her.

That's pretty broken! Could make it worse by making it seem it's just demon possessed remains at first as if that's all that was summoned...

On a side note, I haven't seen it but heard about a horror movie called 'Mama' which I read up on the plot and it has a heartbreak involved with the horror (I don't think it's a spoiler to say that?). Seems to have some contemporary problematic themes as well.
