Hi all. Just wanted to share with you this very simple game that I usually play wuth my kids but with interesting outcomes... :)

"The Red and The Black"
http://www.levity-rpg.net/en/?p=177
A "conch shell" like game in which the players disclose a card.
If it is red "something good" occurs.
If it is black "something bad" occurs.
In no way you should force the kid about what's good or bad. Let him / her decide.
Play it, you'll have surprises. :)
Cheers,
Rob

I think I'll try that with my kids tonight or tomorrow.

Also, for comparison, here's Zak Arntson's Shadows, which I think was the first work for kids that came out of the early Forge (anyone, correct me if I'm wrong).

If anyone has links to other games that really work for kids of this age, let's see them here! I am getting a little tired of "for kids!" RPGs which are basically just FUDGE with cute pictures ... a few too many Kickstart projects that looked promising arrived in my mailbox recently and they were all too much like that.

I know Shadows because I've made an italian translation of it and it is a wonderful game for kids.
I'm going to publish more kids specific games  for different ages (4 to 6, 6 to 8, 8 to 10, 10 and above) in the next months.
If you're interested I'll share them in this forum.

Hi Ron, I've found the time to convert in english "Halo and Fork", a rather funny game I've used (and still using) to play with my keds and nephews (sometimes they still play it between them or with their friends).

4 players, one Protagonist, one Angel, one Devil, the Conscience.
The protagonist is put in front of a dilemma, the angel and the devil have a 5 words statement to drive him/her toward good or bad will, in case of tie the conscience decides...
As for the other game, you shouldn't force the kids to say what is good or bad.
Have fun! :)

I'm going to publish in the next days "Nuts" another narration game for very little kids in which each player has a finite amount of nuts to be determined at the beginning of the game. The game intention is to learn kids to handle "game economy" in terms of management of finite resources to use to exercise authorship and narration power.
In game terms the kids narrate a story focusing on two opposing characters. Whenever one player does not agree about the narration puts one (or more) nut(s) in the pot. If the other player accepts the opposition, the nuts are removed from the game. If, instead, opposes the narration, must play at least the "nuts played by the other player + 1". The players may raise the stakes introducing more nuts (until they have some, of course). At any time the one who started the conflict may get back from the conflict retiring the nuts from the pot. If, instead, no player wants to revert from the conflict the player who has played more nuts wins. The nuts are retired from the game.

Any quick feedback is welcome.
Rob

P.S. Ron, we may edit the thread title stating that it is a thread focused on games specifically written with "kids as intended player".

Hi everybody. It's a lot of time I didn't reconnect.
Just to let you know that, at last, I've setup the English section of the site and you will find all my one-page games (currently) translated in English.
Some of them are perfect to be played with kids and during party.

The games have been played a lot of times and I will be happy to give you some feedback about how they're played and some interesting design stuff.
Thank you all.
Rob

P.S. The game "Flashback Bullets" is completing, at last, playtesting. I can't publish drafts because it will be commercially published.
