Heya Ron,

Here's a link to a Kickstarter project that basically did the same thing you want to do: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/252020431/obsidian-portal-reforged  I think the purpose for their site is a little different from what you want, but the goal is about the same: take an existing, basic site and use the Kickstarter funds to make it really awesome.

I don't know if the link will be helpful or not, but it might offer you an example of how other people have tackled the same sort of project you're considering.

Peace,

Thanks Troy! Yes, for my site plans, that's a pretty good analogy. I have to keep stressing that the app plans are very different things and have absolutely nothing to do with visiting a website.

So I've been thinking, a Kickstart needs one goal, a solid goal. In this case, it has to be the app.
I'm going to call the gallery a kind of subsidiary upgrade, a feature of the game's general makeover along the same lines as the re-issue/re-design of the book. It'll be basically functional for the Kickstart with the promise being that it'll be prettier afterwards, and I hope it's a feature that'll be at least nice to have around. And I can definitely get the app to store game-data there if people want. But the actual and only Kickstart goal is the app, case closed.

So, all that said, I think I can finalize the Kickstart draft, which I've been scribbling on for a little while now, and once the software developer is completely satisfied with our specs and the deal, I'll make the draft available here and at Story Games, like I did before.

Best, Ron
