Title: A Question Regarding Feints

On p.61 MRB ("Feint-and-Cut"), it states:

Later on, under "Feint-and-Thrust", the MRB states:

QuoteThis is a more practical feint, as easily performed with long swords and broadswords as with shorter weapons.

What has me confused is the fact that there is no difference in the activation costs for Feint-and-cut and Feint-and-thrust.  The text clearly indicates that there ought to be one.

Is this an error that has (miraculously) avoided notice?

Along the same lines, why is the Feint-and-Cut a proficiency level 5 maneuver if it is one of the "...first 'trick' that most swordsmen know..." while the feint-and-thrust is a proficiency level 3 maneuver?

Confused.

Kind of.  Feints only have an activation cost for rapiers (the example seems to indicate otherwise)... some things slipped by the editors.  For other weapons, feints only have the 1 for 1 die cost.  Feint and Thrust is a more complicated maneuver, so it's reserved for more experienced swordsmen, although peoficiency level three isn't that high. :)  I guess Jake figured that additional activation costs for the slower feint were a bit too steep.  After all, the Seneschal can assign more dice penalties for more exotic feints.

All feints have the increasing activation cost (+1 each subsequent time you do one against the same opponent) but some weapons start at 0 and some start at 1.
