Title: Record number of users
Post by: Valamir on April 18, 2004, 12:33:55 AM
I find it interesting that the record number of simultaneous users reported at the bottom of the Main Page used to adjust every couple of months to a new level, until just after the Birthday Forum last year.

At that time the record number of simultaneous users spiked dramatically (last April), just after the birthday forum.  Not during the birthday forum, but rather the week after.

It stood unbroken for an entire year.  Almost exactly 1 year to the day.

The new record, set this April just a couple days ago, also after but not during the birthday forum.

I find that too convenient to be mere coincidence.

I've actually been wondering this one, too... What the heck is going on? Are we being flash-mobbed?

See? I'm using "we". The IGC has made me feel a part of Forge. Or it's just that I'm writing this at three o'clock in the morning after writing some 140k of roleplaying rules...

Anyway, I don't have any idea, but too want to know what causes this strange coincidence. Could it be that Clinton is playing with us?

Umm... could it have anything to do with the Iron Chef Game?????

The last record was something like 35 users, too.  Big jump.

And welcome again, Eero.  Good to have you one of us.

Last April it hit 53 or something like that.
