Title: SOAP again
Post by: Ferry Bazelmans on January 05, 2002, 05:35:24 PM
Hi people,

Mike Holmes was the onlyone to react to my previous attempt at getting input from you guys, so I'm going to be an asshole and post again. :)

Please read the new page (including better rules for guessing secrets) at:

Thanks!

I just got a group together and played through a wonderful session (our first) of Soap.

I've got to say that both myself and the three other players fell head over heals for the system and it was just the thing for a relatively impromptu session (one of the biggest strength's of having a capped timelimit).

At the very beginning people were a bit wary of spending a lot of Plot Tokens and tended to horde them but by the time the last half rolled around contested sentences were flying fast and furious and people loosened up a lot with the level of bizarrrity rising fast (once it is reveled that one character is mike tyson in disguise... that kind of stuff tends to happen)

The general consensus was that the game was fully enjoyable, but would be difficult to run as an extended series simply because a lot of the fun comes with playing with people secrets and in an ongoing campaign you have to be a lot more cautious about revealing your secret (barring any rules for getting new secrets).

All in All, 8 thumbs up. ;)
