Title: The biggest problem with Donjon
Post by: Luke Sineath on June 16, 2004, 08:24:42 PM
Where am I supposed to get all those d20s?  One group would probably need 100 of them!  (that's just my estimate, based on reading the rules and Actual Play threads.)

I would love to play this game, but I just don't have that many dice.  Anyone know of a bulk retailer?

Well, you can always use an electronic dice roller. But I've got about 10 d20s I got off of eBay for really cheap. You can also buy them from Chessex in large numbers for not as cheap, but still reasonable. I figure you need about 10 dice per player, so just tell everyone to bring his own. :)

Lots of people also play the game with 10-siders allowing for Storyteller System dice cross-over... You can get ten-packs of d10s from most gaming stores.

Well, I've been playing Donjon on-line anyway so we've been using a program to roll dice.

Yesterday the damage roll for a level 1 PC took 13 dice. :-)

The good thing about using the program is that it outputs the dice ordered in a decrescent order, so it is easy to compare the results.

I've mentioned in another thread that I've purchased bags of 50 plain solid dice of any type from Spellbinders- http://www.spellme.com.  I think it ran me about 15 bucks which is pretty good.  I'm told you can also get a lot of good seconds at conventions like GenCon.
