Title: trouble logging into TUA3
Post by: kwill on November 14, 2004, 05:26:07 PM
heya,

when I try to log in by clicking "login" in the blue box on http://wiki.trmfineart.com/bin/view/Unigame/WebHome or any other TUA3 page, the link takes me to the same page

using Firefox 0.8 and IE6 on WinXP

any suggestions?

Hi David,

The login link is  misleading.  It doesn't know who you are yet.  It's part of the template for the site that I really need to remove.  All you have to do to edit a page is click the 'edit' link at the bottom of any page.  That will bring up the login dialog.  Go ahead and login and the cancel out of editing.  It should recognize you after that (it puts a cookie on your browser so you shouldn't have to login again.)

Any more trouble email me directly.

best

Trevis
Title: aha! but Add comment box doesn't work
Post by: kwill on November 15, 2004, 03:50:01 PM
thanks trevis, clicking edit got me in no problem

what had me confused was the "Add comment" box on NewGuideDiscussion (http://wiki.trmfineart.com/bin/view/Unigame/NewGuideDiscussion), which doesn't seem to work even now that I am logged in:

(I just clicked edit and added my comment manually instead)

I suspect if you try commenting now it will work.  You have to be logged in or at least recognized (which it should do automatically now unless you change IP's) before it will let you post a comment.  That's a result of the anti-spamming measures I took.  So, yeah, if you have trouble with that type of thing, do the edit/cancel thing and login.  You should be able to after that point.

best,

Trevis

edit Oops, I just read your above message more closely.  Someone else was having a lot of trouble with it.  Hmmm.  Maybe I need to kick out the comment plugin.  It doesn't seem to be working correctly.
I'll look into it.
