Title: How to do a layout (for afreind)
Post by: Seth M. Drebitko on June 23, 2005, 01:38:35 PM
OK this is just a quick little post that my friend asked me to post up for him while he is on vacation. He needs to know of any tutorials, or if any of you know how could you right a quick one up on doing the layout of a book. Any help he would appreciate I am sure see you guys later.

Well, I think a google search will turn up a fair bit, but here are two potentially useful pages (depending on his experience level):

http://www.docsymmetry.com/layout.html - "A Visual Guide to Document Design and Layout"

http://www.aeonix.com/comntypo.htm - common typographical errors

Hope that's of some use. Of course, there are plenty of people around here who can answer more specific questions (and also plenty of people who could be hired to do it).

I took a four session class at a local college - adult learning program - that showed how to use a publishing program and do basic lay out. I'm certain there is something like this where your friend is. Web pages are fine but face to face learning better.
