Seriously, it's available now from my Lulu store (http://www.lulu.com/anvilwerks). So, if you like crazy goblins and sweet lovin' on the corner of Full Moon Drive and Blade-Edge Avenue, get you a copy. And you can get it in perfect or spiral-bound! Crazy.
Clinton,
I know this might be a sore subject for you at the moment, but has there been any word on the remainder of your hardcover copies? Do you think they'll be available for order at some point in the future, or ever?
Thanks.

Between RapidPOD's madness and then the utter destruction of my home, I'm going to go ahead and guess that nope, no hardcovers. My apologies.

Hey Clinton,
Just bought it, lookin' good. I can't wait.

PS. I'm looking forward to the official release of City of Brass, but deal with your own stuff first.

Completely understandable and expected, but one can always hope. In any case, expect an order for one of those perfect-bound beauties in a couple of days.
Thanks!
I added a Shadow of yesterday banner to the Flames Rising website linking to your Lulu.com page. I also posted a press release about the game in the Flames Rising news feed and sent it to GamingReport and Silven.

Matt,
Thanks! In the aftermath of the hurricane, that's actually one of the nicest things you could do for me. I've got food and water and money and stuff, but no time and no bandwidth. I really appreciate you doing that.
Clinton-
Sorry to hear about life at the moment. My condolences.
I'd always meant to buy TSoY since last spring when I ran a oneshot of it, and now that I have money I headed straight to the site only to find... er... that there's a new edition and all, sometimes referred to as TSoY-Fudge in some threads (and the Solar System?). With a different cover (West?). And the old one doesn't seem to be on sale anymore. So... I've been trying to figure out what all the differences are, but it doesn't seem like there's a list of them.
I see in some other threads some stuff about rules. So fudge dice, more levels to cut through in BDTP and some nice changes to skills. Is that the full sum of it? Only change to the art is a different cover?
-Dave
PS: I appreciate the coil-bound alternative.

The basics:
- Smoother, cleaner BDTP.
- Re-organized book to make more sense and be easier to use in play.
- Moved to Fudge dice, which isn't as big of a change as it sounds. Basically, moved everything off of a lookup table to the final values.
- New cover.
- New layout, much easier on the eyes.
- More GMing and playing advice.
- A few minor changes to skills and a few new secrets and keys.
Will the revised edition become available under the CC-license, like the first edition? I have already bought the first book, and having TSOY twice seems a bit too much of a good thing, but I'd like to see and perhaps use the changes.

Your Lulu store page shows only
Donjon.
TSoY doesn't appear to be there.
I removed it from my Lulu store temporarily after one customer reported a problem with his printing. When I discover why this problem occurred, it'll be back up and I'll announce it here.
I had an order for the book in FULFILLING status when you took the book down. Any idea where I stand at the moment? Will I be getting the book, wait on permahold until you get things squared with the printer, or do I need to ask for my money back?
I think I'm in the same boat as Clay.

As to where I stand, I received a notice today that it shipped, so presumably those of us who spent the money will get our books. Hopefully the printing problems were a fluke too.
Hi all,
I just got my copy today (ordered Sept. 7), and it's got the same printing problem. I contacted Lulu and they refunded my money (since the book's no longer available for sale). I'll definately reorder it once it's back on the site.
Apart from the printing error (which unfortunately makes the book almost unusable, since it's on nearly every page), it's a really well constructed book.
I look forward to seeing and buying it from lulu.
I received my copy on Thursday, and finally had a chance to look at it today. I too have the printing error. I strongly suspect that's it's a matter of character set translation issues, since most of the letters are correct, but for any single font there are characters which are consistently wrong.
I have a sneaking suspicion that with you home being of the past it might take you some time to get a corrected version up and available. Any kind of an eta on that, and is there anything that we can do to facilitate that. I can heartily appreciate your need for income right now, so I'm not inclined to return it to LuLu until a replacement is available.
I received my copy yesterday, with the printing errors. I also bought the PDF, comparing the two, the PDF has none of the errors. It rather looks like lulu screwed this one up. If I get a refund from lulu, I hope it doesn't take money from Clinton, since it hardly appears to be his fault.
Those of you who have the book -- could it be a font-embedding issue? I don't know what fonts Clinton used, but I do know that Lulu sometimes gets fuckety about fonts and full embedded sets, so that could be part of the problem.
It's an esoteric problem with fonts being embedded multiple times, and yeah, it's the suck. I have a revised copy coming to me right now which hopefully will resolve the problem.
By the way, I kind of work at Lulu now, so feel free to run questions at me if stuff like this happens with other books you buy there.
So, Clinton, what can an early purchaser who got a hosed copy do that won't hit you in the pocket book?
JJSpackle,
Just contact Lulu and tell them you had a screwed-up copy. I've just put a corrected copy online, so they should send you another one.
Everyone else: the corrected version is up. I have a proof in hand and it looks good.
Best,
Clinton
What version and what binding process is used on the copy for sale at Indie Press Revolution? And why is it 4 dollars cheaper?

You know, I've asked them to take that down, and they haven't.
It's the older version of the game.
Got mine this morning (shipped 2nd September) and it has the printing error. I wonder why the shipping to Europe takes this long.
Anyway, I am happy to see it, and I have contacted Lulu to ask for the corrected copy :)
Per
I got my copy on Friday. On the back cover, it looks like all the hyphens printed as quotation marks. A quick flip through the text looks good, though.
I got my copy today. Looks great. First time I've used Lulu, and I'm impressed.
The back of the book has thin little squares where it should have dashes, apostrophes, and quotation marks. The insides look perfect.
I also got Donjon, and am planning to run some one-shots over Christmas break. (I love the "if they give you lip, point them at this" line!)
Thanks,
Ragnar
Apologies about that back, guys. It's fixed now. I hope it doesn't cause you too much trouble.
Oh crap, I should have read this thread in advance. I ordered the book from IPR to save on the shipping (because I also ordered other stuff there). I take it I got the old book?

Easy to answer: do you have a purple or white cover?
If it's purple, private message me, and we'll work something out.
Sweet! It's a white cover. Thanks Clinton.

Mine's on it's way across the Atlantic. Yay!
