I've come across the term "Chargen" a couple times now and realized I don't have a clue what it means. It's not in the Provisional Glossary. According to my dictionary, it's not even a word. Can anybody help me out?
Thanks,
Frank
character generation.
It took me a long time to figure out from context, and I'm a native english speaker.

I think it may be MUSHspeak, leaking over from online gaming. That's where I encountered (and used) the term.
Its the same in German. I would have guessed, that an English speaker would write "char gen", though.
Heya,
Yep, James got it :) I kinda wish it was in the glossary. It's use is quite frequent on this board and others. It took me months to get it. I wish I would have sacked up and just asked like you did :)
Peace,

While we're on the topic of unfamiliar terms...
sacked up?!?
lol, it means gathered enough courage. Literally, it means grown a scrotum and admitted to being a man (in my case).

What is it about me that keeps bring up genitals? ;-) Thanks for enlightening me. As we say in German: I couldn't see the woods because of the trees.

All right, guys, the topic is resolved and the thread needs to be over now.
