Does the Room Party need funds or contributions of snacks / booze / party games, etc?

Kat 'n' I will be providing cups, plates, utensils, along with heapin' helpin's of her award-winning vegetarian chili. It's tentatvely entitled With Great Chili...
I haven't given it much thought, but we're also toying around with various other "themed" dishes. Hot Dogs in the Vineyard, anyone?
We will make certain to have at least one other entree-level thing there, as well as some snacks and soft drinks, and likely a coffee pot.
If anyone wants to contribute something, feel free. If anyone wants to chip in to help defray costs, that's cool, too.
Ben, are you offering to write a party game especially for the occasion?
With Great Chili...
Why do I even ask?
Okay, cool. I thought I might bring some of the Chinese national liquor if folks are interested.

The Shadow of Yesterday's Lasagna...
That sounds disgusting and possibly full of botulism.
Canapes!
What the heck is a canape, anyway?
Coffee of Shadows. Each served with a Companion cigarette...
I tried to resist this, but it was beyond my will.
Keith
I could bring a bottle of Ice Wine, but I hear it's kinda fruity.

I'll bring a bottle of SHUT YO' MOUTH!
Man, 2 hours for a party? You guys realize that with Clinton there, ain't no way you can fit a party into 2 hours...
Also: if any of you Forge wankers shows up to my game I swear I will shank you in chow line.

Today truly has been a landmark day in the history of whatever it is we're doing.

Whatever. Who wants to play that Lacuna game anyway? It's like some kind of stupid ink-blot test.

P.S. I hear that the guy who writes it never plays games. Seriously, Jared, I thought you'd run something better.

Michael, I'm certainly willing to, say, fill orders locally for booze and such. I can't foot the bill myself, of course, but if a few people wanted to chip in, I could pick something up and bring it over to the hotel. Otherwise, I can bring a couple of different alcohol selections (very small).
Oh, and is this a Forge-only party, or are all convention attendees invited?
First, and seriously: This should be open to anyone. The people involved are the best testimony for the good game-play.
Second, and ... well, still partly serious, but also silly. We should make sure that kool-aid is available as a beverage choice.
Okay, Kat & I don't drink, so you can rest assured that soft drinks WILL be available.
I was hoping for an open-door policy. However, if alcohol is being served, then someone is going to have to be responsible for making sure that under-21s don't get any. I am NOT doing that job, so we need someone to step forward and volunteer. If you want to do that, say so here, on the thread. If you want to coordinate purchasing with Andrew, please take it to PMs.

Can I move and get a second from someone that we solve this problem by not having alcohol at the party?

Seconded.
Fair enough. I sure don't want to be the person responsible for that headache. No booze it is.
Actually, I think there should definitely be booze in the room at some point. It was great watching Thor et al. getting their drink on at DEXCON. I just don't think it's a great idea to mix the drinking with the open party. Two great tastes that don't go so great together.

No need to have booze on my account. Not that I'd turn down a drink, but I can happily make do without.
It should be fairly easy to have a Burning * dish. . . .
Anyway, I'm also local, so if anyone needs help with something, let me know.
If anyone has not read my post in the Dreamation 2006 First Draft schedule topic, please read it when you have the opportunity.
I would be willing to help out any way I might be needed. Please let me know ahead of time if I can bring anything. I live ten minutes from the convention and would be willing to help out.
Everyone have a Perfect Day.
All right, this is too much damn socializing. Organize the room party here, don't have it here.
Best,
Ron
