Title: DitV - FindPlay
Post by: Uruush on January 06, 2006, 03:51:57 AM
Hey, I've been lurking here for about a year, but I just registered and this is my first post.  Likely in the wrong location, but there you go.

Basically I wanted to tell you how much I love your game, Mr. Baker.  That is to say, I love the *idea* of your game.  I really want to play it (and Polaris, and Burning Wheel), but the two groups I have access to are pretty much exclusively d20 -  a Middle Earth homebrew, Midnight, and Iron Heroes of late.

So I registered at Anvilwerks' Findplay and found *six* players who live within 35 miles of Portland, OR, all of whom have listed DitV as the top game they haven't played but want to play.  So, kudos to you on that score.  I sent each of them a cordial e-mail over a week ago and have a total of zero responses.  Very disappointing...  I'd always thought of Portland as a gaming town, but I sure have trouble finding groups for games I want to play.

If I ever get to play DitV I'll let you know how it went.

Unfortunately for you, I live in Utah. ;)
I figure I should be able to find some DitV players here.

Where is this Find Play thing, and does anyone else have suggestions for finding someone running DitV in Utah?

I am already planning on running a campaign for some of my friends from other games, but would like to play before running.  Not necessary but nice.

I may get called on the carpet for replying to a thread that's several weeks old, or for being off-topic, but I'm willing to risk it.  I think the email part of FindPlay may be broken.  Nobody I've ever contacted through FindPlay has responded, and to test it my wife and I sent each other FindPlay mail.  Neither of us recieved it.

I've sent Clinton a PM about this, but haven't heard anything back yet.  Which is kinda funny, considering the situation.  :)
