Title: Playtest a new approach to RPGing
Post by: mratomek on February 07, 2006, 08:07:35 PM
Monster RulesTM is a new approach to RPGing. It allows players to create their own characters and scenarios using a simple point-based system, and then play games in a head-to-head manner with 2 or more players.

The game uses a universal set of rules that can be used to create any character or setting that you can imagine. It is played using minis--but there are no official miniatures. You can use anything you want.

We have been playing the game, recreating famous battles form comics--16" Sentinel vs. the classic x-men was a blast--sci fi--Jurassic Park adventures--and dungeon delves.

The game is not just about killing off your opponent. It can support any skill you can think of and encourages the use of non-combative objectives and tasks. For examples, in the dungeon delves, characters had to use their abilities to search for, find and disarm traps, locks, secret compartments, spells, etc.

It really is a lot of fun and needs some more pounding.

Thanks.

I think you'll get a greater response if you post your rules over in Game Design.

Or, best of all, post about playing your game in Actual Play.
