Sadly, this low-res version doesn't show off the goods in all their glory. But ...
The inestimable Jon Hodgson re-illustrated the whole thing. The Devil is more skeletal (and creepy!), the man has a younger, sadder face, with a funky, ghostly gleam in his right eye. And, some colors have changed, as well as other details like some faded text bits in the top half. It makes me happier than a hound dog on Sunday.
Also, I get to show off my awesome new Western typefaces. Dust Devils revised is gonna rock!
Very nice!
Sweet! I've been holding off on buying Dust Devils for the new edition. What's the ETA?
Jennifer -- thanks! I was wondering about that devilbunny handle, and checked out your site. Nice work -- both the rocking illustrations and the very cool site.
Marhault - ETA is sometime in June. Fingers crossed! It WILL be available at GenCon (and thereafter), guaran-friggin-teed.
Matt,
Thanks for the kind words! Check back at the site sometime. There's so much I'm keeping under my hat right now (it hurts!) and I look forward to updating it soon.
By the way, I checked out your site. I'm very impressed with the consistent quality of your cover art. You have really great looking products!
Suuuure. GenCon. Not Origins, where I'll actually be.
I assume it will at least be available at IPR?

It better be.
And come by the IPR booth at Origins, Marhault. I'd love to meet you in person (that goes for everyone, btw).
Actually, Brennan, we met at Origins '05. I bought NPA, CoS, and a buttload of Sorcerer supplements. Then I hung around like a fanboy and distracted Luke.
This year, I'd like to get more involved in some games/demos etc., so I'm sure I'll see you again this year.

OK, now I'm embarrassed. I am sure I'll recognize you when you come around again this year, but I definitely didn't associate your name.
Yes, it absolutley will be at IPR. And, with a little good fortune, available at Origins via the IPR presence. But, I haven't got that far ahead yet.
Damnit Matt, that cover is gorgeous!
I confess that I have eyed Dust Devils longingly for a long time. Then when you announced that you were revising it, I thought two things: 1) "Damn, I'm going to have to wait a while for this sucker to come out" and 2) "I know the wait, however long, will be worth it."
If the retooled package is any measure of what the interior is like, I know I'll be a happy but poorer man.
Eric
Matt, I think you may know this, but I can hardly wait for this to come out. Dust Devils (specifically the ronin variation) was my first ever indie game. You broke my indie cherry, man. I'll never forget the first time.
Will there be a PDF version?
Yes, Darren, there will be a PDF version. At this point, I am not planning on offering any discount to those who already purchased the game in either form.
Also, I made a snazzy new Dust Devils wallpaper available here:

Looks good Matt! Grats :)
Peace,

Jennifer Rodgers: You are amazing! I love your work. Love love love.
Matt: Nice cover!
