Title: [Donjon] 'splain "sharp weapons" to me
Post by: azrianni on May 27, 2006, 07:26:30 PM
OK.  I'm looking at table 3-2 (weapons and armor) and trying to figure out the +1 for "sharp weapons."  Is that saying that any weapon that qualifies as "sharp" has a DR one higher than other weapons of the same size?  In other words, even though a longsword is listed as an example of a "large weapon" (DR 2), it actually has a DR of 3?

Forgive me if this has been previously answered.  I'm slowly working my way through all of the back pages of Donjon topics, but it takes a while.

That's how I understand it, and how I've been playing it.

Some weapons of a particular type are going to be longer or sharper than others. My longsword might not be as sharp as yours.

It's all rather irrellevant. The only question is how many dice it's worth, and how hard it is to obtain because of that. No?

Anyone play with the idea of reach?  Maybe a one die bonus to the initiative roll if your weapon is longer than mine?
