Title: GenCon wireless?
Post by: btrc on July 16, 2006, 02:30:19 AM
If last year is any indication, we can get wireless in the cafe, but not in the dealer area, at least not without paying through the nose. So, if someone is bringing a wireless laptop for credit card processing, it might be worth the investment to experiment with a small directional antenna. We don't need a high bandwidth connection, just a reliable one. And if we can snag one from the cafe for the price of a $20-$30 antenna, it beats dragging customers out to the cafe to process credit card orders.

Hi Greg,

Brennan is handling the CC processing. He's using a phone dial-in service, so we won't have internet at the booth.
