I'm wrapping up work on a little book, but its enough I want bookmarks for the PDF. My InDesign 2.0 is acting up though and I'm not getting any text on my bookmarks. Would anyone have a minute to do an export for me so the bookmarks actually turn out right?
I can try. Contact me at evilhat AT gmail DOT com.
Or... have you checked your PDF Job Options in InDesign, to ensure that you've set the H-level of your heading styles, for conversion to Bookmarks? I can't recall if ID shows H-level by indention or just text, but there's a place where you can set EVERY style in your book to an H-level, even individual "normal" paragraphs, if you want. Usually, if you have a totally blank Bookmarks Panel, it means they were never setup (or they are setup, but Include Bookmarks is unchecked).
Look for a Bookmarks tab on the PDF Job Options/Settings dialog box in InDesign. (Might be in the Properties of the master book.)
Or are you having trouble with cross-references? ("Bookmarks" means the links on the Bookmarks Panel in Reader/Acrobat, but folks sometimes call cross-reference hyperlinks "bookmarks".)

Nope, I'm not even finding these options available.
What I have is a Bookmark side panel in the PDF, with all of the bookmarks in place, such as if I have 12 entries in my TOC I also have 12 bookmarks, but no text on the bookmark itself. So if my section is titled "Introduction", the bookmark says " ". Thats it.
Hey, now that people have stepped up to help, please take it to private communication. When it's over, and if there's any general insight to be gained, then Nate can post it here.
