Title: Do you know something like this?
Post by: Christian Liberg on October 31, 2006, 12:34:20 PM
Hey Everybody.

I have a while ago started on making a roleplaying world + system. This world is a primordial soup, and the characters play amorphous blobs. I have created several pieces of tidbits and ideas, but have yet to put them into a larger book'ish framework.

So have anyone heard about a system like it, and could you post a few links, or tell how the games where?

Christian

Hello and welcome!

Here are a couple of threads about a neat game being developed:
I love Evolve and wanna expand it (http://www.indie-rpgs.com/forum/index.php?topic=20080.0)
[Evolve mod] First try (split) (http://www.indie-rpgs.com/forum/index.php?topic=20256.0)

Best, Ron

Some friends and I used to play a game we called Genesis Revisited. The premise was that the players were playing gods over their own unique universes, building them from the aether up, from primordial elements to worshippers. It was basically a parlor game with few real creative constraints in the form of rules.

Is the principle that you're playing eukaryotes, or is that you become something else?

Thanks Ron.

Hmmm im' still working my way through the evolve rules, but doenst quite seem what im looking for, however they got a lot of good ideas, i can use, very neat thank you.

A little more of the game world.
The players are actually playing large eukaryotes, with the nucleus being a highly sophisticated brain. The eukaryotes are actually a top predator in that world, and the world is inhabited by several other 'lesser' species, much akin to an fantasy setting with my eukaryotes being the equivalent of highly intelligent dragons.

The eukaryotes are actually created beings, and are as such, not natural creatures to the game world, and therefore as such has some limitations in how they interact with the 'lesser' beings. Much akin to an alien game, only where the game world is in fact more alien than the Aliens.

I have yet to playtest any of this, and im still rambling through my ideas on several pieces of paper, and an evergrowing word document.

So to sum it up.

im looking for games for inspiration, which deals with the following.

1. Playing eukaryotes or other similar 'blobs'.
2. Playing in a water world.
3. Playing in a world where you are the extreme outsider, with all the problems that will present.
