Title: The size of the Forge
Post by: Jake Norwood on May 20, 2002, 09:01:11 PM
It seems to me that the Forge has grown a lot in the last month, going from 460-ish to now about 510. Has the Forge always been pretty small and just started growing, or what, exactly? I think that it's just good news, and I'm wondering what the history and potential of the forge is...

An article, "the History of the Forge" would be kinda cool as well.

Growth has definitely accellerated over the last couple of months. I think this is a normal exponential growth pattern. It's simple enough, more people know about it so they tell more people. Pretty standard I'd say.

The next phase is one of potentially very rapid development size wise, followed by a Malthusian tapering off.

Just a guess.

Which I, for one, am looking fondly forward to.

I suspect the flood can be directly attributeable to two large recent RPG.Net threads, the more recent of which is the RoS thread, the other being the GNS debate redux.
