Title: Gametime – a new Kiwi groupblog about RPGs
Post by: hix on November 18, 2006, 11:55:58 PM
I've just helped establish Gametime (http://community.livejournal.com/gametime/), a livejournal community to discuss game design and theory, centred in New Zealand. We're aiming to contribute to the on-going online conversation about RPGs, and build up the Kiwi indie-publishing scene.

Our first few posts centred on Sorceror, where we talked about cheating (http://community.livejournal.com/gametime/1513.html), Bangs (http://community.livejournal.com/gametime/#1962), and different types of setting (http://community.livejournal.com/gametime/#1777). At the moment, we're analysing the issues involved in playing and running Burning Empires.

Currently, Gametime has three contributors:

- Luke (known as Skywalker, here on the Forge) is exploring how to integrate shared narrative tools from games like Burning Empires and With Great Power into traditional RPGs - both new and existing.

- Morgue (who posts as morgue on the Forge) is digging through his past and present gaming experiences, in order to better understand why some things worked and others didn't.

- I tend to write about what's fascinating me right now. Currently that's Narrativism and a 24 Hour RPG about Romero zombie movies that I wrote a few weekends ago.

We'd like to invite anyone who wants to join the conversation to drop in. Hope to see you there.
