Title: Need some art for Adventure!
Post by: JB Mannon on September 05, 2008, 03:31:33 AM
I am looking for four pieces of art, fantasy themed.  I would really like a warrior type and a monster as well as a small banner to go across the bottom.  I also need a logo for Crown White Productions.  This game is only two pages in brochures that I will be selling for a dollar or less.  If anyone knows of any images I can use or if you feel charitable I will certainly give you a credit.

Hey, you'll find some great art out of copyright if you are very careful in selecting it -go to your public library and find works published before 1920 (don't use copyrighted collections of art that is out of copyright though -wink...wink), and then search the web for any credited artist/publisher in the books to make sure they don't still retain the rights via a foundation or recent reprint, etc.  Also, Project Gutenberg (a site that collects public domain pieces) has some illustrated books among its archives -some of them are fairytales and contain ogres/goblins/giants.  Finally, if you give me an address to send it, I'll help you out with some nice banners I've digitally fixed up from some Victorian Era prints I got my hands on.
