Title: [Final Hour of a Storied Age] Seeking Playtesters
Post by: Dan Maruschak on October 15, 2009, 08:11:40 PM
I am looking for playtesters for my game, Final Hour of a Storied Age: A Roleplaying Game of Epic Fantasy (http://dansdesigns.wordpress.com/2009/10/06/final-hour-of-a-storied-age-new-title/). It is a GM-less no-prep game designed to create epic fantasy stories like the ones in The Lord of the Rings, The Wheel of Time, The Sword of Truth, etc. I think it has an innovative situation generation mechanic (somewhat inspired by In A Wicked Age) and a scene framing economy that supports a "protagonist / antagonist / supporting characters" story structure. Playtesting would be conducted over Skype.

To give people a sense of the game, I'm releasing audio recordings of playtests I've done on my new AP Podcast, Designer vs. Reality (http://www.danmaruschak.com/podcast/). Or, if you'd prefer text to audio, I have some detailed synopses here (http://www.danmaruschak.com/blog/2009/12/22/final-hour-of-a-storied-age-playtest-1/) and here (http://www.danmaruschak.com/blog/2009/12/22/final-hour-of-a-storied-age-playtest-2/).
