Title: Online Play
Post by: Michael Hopcroft on August 13, 2002, 05:36:02 AM
Since I'm going to be rearching online play for HeartQuest Online anyway, I thought I'd ask if anyone on the forum had any war stories regarding play by chat, e-mail or computer assist program that they;d be willing to share with me that would give me some additional insights into this area.

Join the indie-netgaming Yahoo Group! I you can *set up* online playtest games there. :)

I've been running and participating in on-line games for almost a decade, and for the last five years it has been my sole method of gaming.  I've gamed via IRC, ICQ chat, the now defunct PowWow, e-mail and messageboard, and a few specifically RPG-oriented software packages, thus I hope I might have some valuable insight and experience to offer you.

Additionally, this short thread (http://www.indie-rpgs.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=226) might provide you with some insight, or at least a springboard for questions, since wanting to know about on-line gaming is a great deal like asking, "I want to know how the world works, so, tell me about physics."

Feel free to post questions here or contact me via e-mail and I'll be glad to help out (and check out the Indie Netgaming group, too!).
