Title: Guns query
Post by: Balbinus on August 30, 2002, 06:31:09 PM
Does TROS have rules for guns of the (equivalent) period?  If not, how difficult would that be to introduce?

No, TROS does not have rules for guns. Interestingly this gets asked all the time, and should probably go on a FAQ somewhere if it's not already.

But it's very easy to make them. Using the crossbow rules, we just bump up the stats as seems appropriate, and viola! instant firearms so deadly that even veteran GURPS players will shudder at the implications.

I'd also bump up the ATN, making weapons that hit rarely and wound rarely (if you get my meaning).

Of course the ATN wouldn't necessarily be higher for more modern-accurized models. Like a Baretta.

But yeah, makes sense for less-accurate weapons for primitive firearms.

You should see it in the Flower of Battle. Unless Jake changes his mind.

If you're really hurting for them, I'd be happy to crunch some of the preliminary research.
