Title: Resource Library policies (in real world practice)
Post by: Clinton R. Nixon on October 02, 2002, 10:28:57 PM
Everyone,

Recently, I had an individual request links to his website removed from the Resource Library. I was caught at what to do, so I'm going to outline the entire process.

While links submitted to the Library do contain the submitter's IP address, I have no way to knowing who submits them. Someone had recently submitted  links to this individual's website, and I approved them.

When the individual requested I remove them through the Resource Library system, I did so. I had no legal reason to do so: linking without permission is legal. However, I like to have a friendly policy here, and if an individual would prefer not to be affliated with the Forge by a link, I will remove it. The links are removed now.

Because of the lack of identity in the submission system, however, I ask that anyone that wants a link removed include their name and e-mail address in the request, so that I can confirm it. Thanks!
