An Auckland gaming store has TROS on it's shelves. How cool is that (and it only took many months of nagging).
I know you don't care, but this forum has been a bit quiet the last couple of days, so I just wanted to say something :-)
Brian.
Hey-
I care. And a question to everyone else--is TROS on your FLGS shelves? Is it selling? Ask your LGS and find out!
Jake
Well, I know *you* care, but I already told you via email yesterday :-)
Now I just have to work on the other gaming store (2 only in a city of over a million people, how much does that suck) to get it in as well.
[wank]Maybe if they do I'll go in and sign copies of OBAM for them[/wank] :-)
Brian.
No sign in Wellington. Then again we don't even have a dedicated LGS :(
I picked up a copy at The Compleat Strategist in NYC. The first time I saw it they had several copies. When I actually bought it, there were only two left.
Yeah, we have TROS in Finland. And from what I've read from Finnish RPG forums and newsgroups, it's selling pretty well.

You can get TROS in Calgary at the Sentry Box (http://www.sentrybox.com). They ordered it in as soon as I made them aware of it. They're the largest LGS in Canada, and are really good about stocking small press rpgs. I have no idea how many copies they've sold.
-Mark
P.S. The TROS Errata is coming along well. I expect to be done in two weeks. I apologize for the delay, but it was unavoidable due to personal commitments. :(

I'm glad to hear that. Everywhere I hear game stores are doing well with it, which is a good sign.
I'm also stoked to see that errata. I'll have to send you a t-shirt, Mark, when we get them done.
Lastly we should be seeing a quick-start pretty soon. It's all done except sorcery and the intro to weyrth, and proofreading.

I did try and get our comic shop to order it but they claimed it was impossible.

They're full of shit :-)
Get them to call Vagabond games in Takapuna, Auckland who have it and can tell them how to order it from within NZ if they don't know how.
Brian.

Yes, I thought they might be

Well, I mail-ordered my copy, so I'm happy.
I'll mention it to them next time I'm in, but they seem to have a policy of going through just one or two distributors, for some reason.
I checked for the Riddle of Steel on the swedish websites. It turned out that SF-bokhandeln(the SF Book Store) got it, though TORS really doesn't get the credit it deserves. The description only says "An RPG with it's own combat system. Set in Weyrth, a pretty ordinary fantasy world."
I haven't seen or played TROS sence Lyrax went back to school, but i decided to try and remedy that and apparently Wizards of the Coast has it on their lists, so i'm having them try and order me a copy and i will try and intrest peps in my area, and when does Sorcery and the Fey come out? or has it already?
SATF isn't out yet, but Jake mentioned it recently so I guess it's in production (ditto TFOB). OBAM is in the final editing/adding artwork stages and should be out in a few months though.
Brian.
After praising TROS to my FLGS owner (who also does layout stuff for my company and plays in one of my groups - which means he can't escape me ;), in addition to recommending the game to some friends who keep nagging him about it, he already ordered some copies, but they're not in stock yet. So, TROS in Germany - it's only a matter of days 'til it's on my game store's shelves.
TROS has also hit the shelves in Denmark (north of Germany for those of you who don't know :-)), although as far as I know only one bookstore carries it yet.
Talking about Planets.
I do the ordering for RPGs at Forbidden Planet, New Oxford Street, London.
I've been stocking the game since release, and so far it has sold over ten copies. Not much I know, but it's hard to convert the Hackmaster (tm) masses. Still, I'm happy with that.
Should anyone be unable to get hold of a copy, the shop does Mail-order, and ships worldwide. I know, shameless plugging of my shop, but I'd love TROS to do well.
So yeah, can't find a copy then call 0207 836 4179, and order one. Sorted.
Take care.
ps. Sorry if I've been a little quiet lately (should anyone have noticed) but I've recently moved house and have only just got back online (broadband this time - no more crappy dialup... ah the bliss)
Yeah, one of the big strengths that TROS has is its retailer fanbase. And 10 copies is great for a game from a publisher our size!
Jake
I went in to Imperial Outpost Games last night, and was slightly perplexed not to see TRoS on the shelves anymore. But when I asked Darren about it, he told me that they'd sold the last copy they'd had on the shelves that day, but they'd have more in today.
I also gave him the tentative information on when OBaM is supposed to be out, and arranged to maybe start up a TRoS game in the next week or so.
Just something I thought Jake would like to know.
It was missing because I bought it. ;-)

Speaking about that, how are sales going? And, not expecting you to go into details, but how's the overall economic situation for Driftwood, as far as revenue vs. production costs are concerned? I'm just a curious person ;)
No secrets, really. All new companies spend a lot more than they make in the first year, and we're no exception. TROS is doing well and we're expecting pretty decent profits, but we're not there yet.

I'm quite confident that OBAM will bring in millions... ;-)
Brian.
Just FYI
My LGS sold out of TROS already and is expecting a second shipment this week...
