Title: Uh... Hi!
Post by: Emily Dresner on August 17, 2001, 02:43:00 PM
Hi all--

I'm pretty sure a good half of the people here know who I am.  In the last three years, I've contributed to about a dozen different books (another this winter) in one way or another, I used to spout off as a columnist on Pyramid magazine, and I randomly appear on RPG.Net.  I was writing the NinjaBurger (http://www.ninjaburger.com/)comic strip until the move happened, and I'll be returning to it in early September.  I'm supposed to join GameGrene (http://www.gamegrene.com/) in September, too, but we'll see if Morbus can con me or not.

I have a website, but it's currently packed in a box in an Allied shipping center, so my other one is going to have to do -- http://www.evilkitten.org/~zenith.  I'll pop it in my .sig once I have mastered the art of this BBS.

Believe it or not, I just discovered this forum.  I had been shunning Gaming Outpost for various reason, and Indie Games had fallen through the cracks.  I must have been living under a rock.  Since I may be working on my own game in my Gratuitous Free Time, and my husband wants to try some d20 publishing stuff, I'm hoping to contribute something mildly intelligent to the forums.  And, hopefully, get some feedback in return.

So, HALLO, then, eh!

(And the fool on the hill will be back once we have DSL.  Trust me, it's a priority.)

Hi Emily. Welcome to the Forge.
Ninjaburger looks remarkably playable for a comedy game. Admittedly, my group are all L5R-heads, so anything involving ninja and shouting goes over well with them.

*checks the website*
Hmm. Another AI rpg. That makes...four or five in development. Looks interesting though.

The difference being mine will very likely go into the circular file with no pretentions of ever getting written.

Hi Emily,

I love Ninja Burger. I have PLAYED Ninja Burger. It was disastrously funny.

Great comic strip, too.

Best,
Ron

All I can say regarding NinjaBurger:  very fun.  Very, very fun.  Sometimes, though, it really sucks to be Snake Eyes...

(I become Snake Eyes, so I can't talk.  Then, of course, I can't get my bonus for my crazy kiai.  Then, to make matters worse, I cease being Snake Eyes for ONE MOMENT, then I am shamed and rip out my own tongue in remorse.  The Humanity!)

Great fun, though.

I didn't write the game.  Mike and the guys at 9th Level did, although I did pick up a credit.  (Look, Yet Another Gaming Credit!) Comic strip, well, that's something else.  The creepiest thing was when I was at Otakon, and characters I had created were walking around on the floor...

I went on hiatus on all my projects for the move, but we close on August 30th, and after that, I'll pick up a subset of them again, incluing the comic book.  I have a vague idea where to take things, and it includes monkeys.
