I am very impressed so far by tRoS!
I read the back of the book and looked through it a few weeks ago.
I could not stop thinking about the game so I just had to buy it.
I have to read all the rules but I like the "feel" of the game so far.
It looks very deep.
So is the mention of D20 a dirty word here?
Nah, D20 isn;t a dirty word. We're all a fairly open-minded bunch really :-)

And no, d20's not a dirty word so long as you don't ask if we're doing a TROS d20 book! :-) I think we all grew up on D&D for the most part...it would be wrong to insult your mother, as it were.

I thought D20 is like having a greasy burger...so good sometimes. But then again as you grow older you like to eat finer meals as well.
Welcome to TROS, Eldrad. I'm pretty new myself. I'd recommend just looking at how to do basic cut and thrusts in the system first, then expand out after a few test duels.
I still haven't read through the world section yet. Anyone notice that as you get further through the alphabet, the countries get nastier and nastier! :)
I would also like to extend a hearty "welcome to the forum" to Eldrad.
I'm fairly new here myself, but this place seems pretty friendly, and Jake and Brian are often about to give some advice or clear stuff up, which is really cool. I mean, can you imagine ever talking to one of the guys that wrote 3E about a rules clarification, or even saying "thanks" when you came by the forum to say "i bought your game and it's the coolest damn thing since liquid nitrogen"? Doesn't seem that likely to happen to me.

They certainly seem to, Noon. Odeon sounds like one of the worst places to wind up, though. I love the description for that frozen hell. Zhibara sounds pretty nasty too, though at least people willingly live there.

As for the alphabet thing...that's interesting, seeing as we wrote them way out of order. Just something sinister about the lower end of the alphabet, I guess.

It seems as if there are a lot of new faces around here as of late! I can't remember the last time I saw the TROS forum so busy. I've been around here for a while, and it sure is a friendly place. Jake and Brian are always gracious and informative, and the rest of the rank and file posters are rather nice as well.

This is a guess, but the
nastier ones? Gawd, what about that country where the slaves sort of feel happy when they get sold off and shipped out to some other place. Man, I bet the smiley would never get invented there!
Still, I like the softer countries being there to begin with...it helps ease the old D&D mindset from happy elf land light, to dark dark darkness...for the GM, too! :)

It is really cool that the writer of the game is actually writing back. Good idea to have web support as a "part" of a game.
Jake you need to add simple small maps of the cites. Not every street just the city sections(slums, noble, merchant quaters, ect. ect) with a few cool attractions of the city/town.
It would be a cool attraction to the website.
The entire indie sites are cool.
