Title: Buying Gifts
Post by: toli on February 18, 2003, 10:25:55 PM
Does anyone have any thoughts on buying gifts?  One can buyoff flaws, so it might be reasonable to buy gifts as well.  Obviously there has to be some logic involved.  For example, a PC might be able to buy 'ambidextrous' as an indication of training with the off had.  Buying a gift like 'beauty' might not be possible or perhaps one level would be possible representing a change in grooming or behavior.

That's exactly how I run it. I also believe that gifts can be granted from in-play events.

That's good to hear.  Thanks.

What about starting gifts/flaws? Do you use any combination that sums to the priority?  eg. If I choose a B priority for 1 Major gift can I take 1 major gift, 1 minor gift and 1 minor flaw...?

I do that in my campaigns since I trust my players to keep it within the realm of their character concept. IE it makes since that so and so's character would be uncannily accurate but never let his enemies live or show mercy.

If it get s out of hand I bring out my veto pen.
