Title: the prolific nature of TROS
Post by: Ashren Va'Hale on May 16, 2003, 05:38:02 PM
Just wondering if we could do a roll call for all board members, basically state where you are currently playing TROS. I am curious to see how far and wide the game has spread. (Germany, finnland, NZ, Brasil... etc)

-Myself: Washington DC area (NO. VA).

-I live in Bonn, Gemany

It seems TROS has spread as far as most other RPGs. I have yet to talk to a German role-player who has heard of the game. This is not surprising, since I discovered TROS only by reading through tons of threads and reviews at RPG.net, again and again stumbling over remarks like: "The perfect system for X? Sure, that would be TROS", which is something most players I know don't do.

Maybe it's time to call for crusade, to bring the infidels to the light of the Riddle. :)

You can indicate your whereabouts with your Profile (editable in the link at the top of the page). As mine says, I play in the Milwaukee area. Tho, I have to admit to only having played a bit. Did a demo for some new players about a week ago, for instance; but not sure they'll play (I run a lot of good games).

New Zealand, like the profile says. Oh, and I know for a fact that it's made it to Australia as well.

I'm (as can be seen) in Calgary.  The FLGS here stocks nearly every rpg under the sun, and they got TROS in after I told them about it.  I've told my friends back in Nova Scotia about TROS, so we'll see if it spreads there, too. :)

I've helped develop a pretty decent TROS community here in western North Carolina, USA.

So far I know of two, possibly three people who own a copy here in Calgary.

Say, Mark, did Mike pick one up yet? I think Keith might as well, but don't know about anybody else.

PS: I am going to be loading my (old)laptop with a copy of the CharGen, CombatSim and those nifty digital hit/damage tables for ease of use during games, etc.

Huntsville, Virginia?  Awesome!  Lets get a Virginia group together at the Patriot Game convention in Richmond and play!

Im in Trenton,Ontario Canada. We have not had a chance to play yet but will be starting in 2 weeks.
A bunch of us went to see Matrix Reloaded last night and I talked to them about TROS. Most of them were interested in trying the game.
The movie was cool, but the ending really sucked.

Nope, though he is beginning to cave, slowly. ;)  Soon he will join us on the dark side.  I hope Keith picks one up as well... having only 2 copies at the table will be less than optimal.

I'm here in the UK and I will be starting my first TROS game in June.  I'm planning on a Michael Moorcock Multiverse type idea.  That way I get to take all the world settings I like from the other games and use them in my TROS system!

Rome, Italy. I'm going to start my campaing in July.
Sadly, I have to finish my Dnd campaing before starting a new one with TROS.
The temptation of a massive-huge-large meteor putting an end on my actual campaing is strong........ (the Dark Side... easier.... more tempting....)

I'm in Australia.
Had TROS send directly from Jake, and boy! did it get here *fast*

Trouble is, I have a life too rich and full, and still struggle to get a face to face game going, while timezones prevent me finding anyone online....

/me wipes away his tears.

I'm in Eureka, California with Calder and his stellar game, Noctourne. (It's way up near the Oregon border in Humboldt County, you've probably never heard of it.) We've got a fair number of Riddle converts up here, five at current count with a few on the wings. Ben's originally from here but he defected to Rhode Island a few years back. Actually, it was Ben who introduced us to TROS, and we've never looked back.

Yukon Territory, Canada here.  Had read a bit about the game over at the HarnForum (http://www.harnforum.com) and at rpg.net.  Just got a copy today and am quite impressed so far!  Looking forward to doing some reading for the next few days.

I'm in Dallas.  I bought the TROS rules in January but have only played one time, with a friend of mine named Aaron.  Aaron recently took a beating on RPG.net for making some negative comments about TROS.  In spite of that, he hasn't forsworn future TROS play.   I'm currently adapting TROS to my own SF RPG rules (or vice versa).

I live in the lion's den -- Seattle, Washington.  I'm hoping to cajole my group into trying out TROS sometime in the fall.  Got a copy of the book from a local store near my house that stocks a nice selection.

I'm in Texas. Currently I'm using the RoS meee system as the melee system in a Fading Suns campaign which ses the Millenium's End game and ranged combat system; this has allowed me to play-test the system and get my players used to it (very well received, BTW).

I'm waiting on the release of OBAM; once I have that, we will resume our fantasy campaign, which will be taking place in Harn.

I'm in Minnesota (Twin Cities, to be exact), and I know that the Source had copies which sold out, and got a second batch (which is where I got mine).  And Dreamhaven Dinkytown had a copy during their 'closing this location' sale.

Haven't had a chance to play yet, but I think my brother is game.
