I'm off to travel through Peru, Ecuador and Bolivia for six weeks.
No talking while I'm gone. I want all conversation to halt until I'm ready to start reading again.
Just kidding. Fill the board, and give me heaps of stuff to read through when I get back, assuming I don't fall into an ancient Incan pit trap or anything.
As it turns out, you'll probably all see OBAM before I do, which seems a little unfair somehow :-) Anyway, enjoy it, and I expect lots of praise when I get back *grin*
So, unless I find an internet cafe in the wilds of Peru, see you mid July...
Brian.
i always wondered how that was spelled "Auf wiedersehn"
theres alot less L's than i thought there was..lol
oh sorry... you leaving, have fun!
Have fun, Brian!
-Mark
Quotei always wondered how that was spelled "Auf wiedersehn"
Actually it is spelled "auf Wiedersehen"
All nouns get capital letters in german,
"wieder" means again
"sehen" means to see
and "sehn" is how you pronounce it in every-day language
and is thus an alternative spelling which can be used informally.
I guess that is what you all just wanted to know right now!

nope, i think thats more than i wanted to know..lol, i just cut and pasted what brian typed, because i wasnt sure i could even spell it correctly..lol
Try the guinea pig! It's pretty good!
Brian,
Wow that sounds like great fun! I can't tell you much about the other countries, but I've been to Peru, and you'll definitely be able to find internet cafes in Lima and Cusco.
Also, you should check out the South American Explorers club. They have clubhouses in Quito in Ecuador, and Lima and Cusco in Peru. They have GREAT resources for adventuring around the region, and if you plan to do any serious hiking their maps are excellent.
I envy you. But I expect my consolation prize (OBaM) should be quite enjoyable. Can't wait to see what you guys have added to this already great game.
Take care,
~Patrick

Take care, man.
Having a fucking ball, thanks all for the kinds words.
I almost bought an aborted llama foetus today at the witches market, but where do you keep something like that :-)
La Paz Brian.
Ummm....on your TV, of course!
(Originally, i was going to say "in your pants")
Brian, don't take this the wrong way, but i won't be inviting you to any parties anytime soon, hehe!

Heh, I used to work with guys like that...
Hey Brian, I just picked up a bottle of Bowmore Cask Strength... when can you get here to help me kill it and burn a few Cohibas?

Trust me... he has 'em... and he's not afraid to share them!
-Mark (still dizzy from the Bowmore) :D
Heh.
Very seedy right now, spent last night drinking La Paz Pilsener in a tiny grotty little pub filled only with locals and shoe-shine boys. 4 days in La Paz is to much though, otherwise I wouldn´t be in an internet cafe for the second time in 2 days.
Salamander, bring it on my friend :-)
La Paz Brian
In Huaraz now, having been right through Puna, Cuzco, Arequipa, Nazca, Pisco (home of the Pisco Sour.. VERY nice) and Lima on the way.
Having a blast. Machu Picchu was fantastic, as were the Nazca lines.
Thanks to those of you who sent me personal emails. I probably wont get much time to respond until I get back, but its nice to get them.
Huaraz Brian.
Hi all. Just letting you know I'm back, so you're allowed to start discussing TROS again ;-)
Brian.
Just in time, Brian! Congrats on your first book.
Jake
Mate, I'm seriously jazzed. Can't wait to have the thing in my hot little hands.
Brian.
(edit: Hmm.. Kiwi slang maybe doesn't work on a US board. Jazzed = very very happy *grin*).
Ahem. You've some writing to do in threads labled Taveruun, methinks.
:-)
Mike
Give me a few days (well, a week lets say) to catch up on the over-a-thousand emails at work and the backlog of work they left for me, and I'll be right into Taveruun. Did you leave me a provence?
Brian.

...So how was the guinea pig?

Oh yes. You have to West. And if you can toss in Southwest, or Northwest as well that would be excellent. Actually, someone might have NW already.
We'll figure it out.
Mike
Not too bad. Tastes a little like pork, but gamey like wild duck as well.
Also tried llama, alpaca and yes, we think once we were served rat :-)
Jeez man, I can't get this stupid grin off my face. I just downloaded a copy of OBAM and it's a fucking buzz reading through, seeing my own writing but formatted nicely with pictures and stuff. Seriously cool.
Anyone who has read it yet, Jake has set up a thread for thoughts etc. We would really appreciate comments (even if they're negative). Just don't let my frail ego and suicidal tendancies affect what you say at all... :-)
Brian.
Welcome back
Look forward to your posts, be they on Taveruun or other things
