Is there a possibility to make polls on the forge?
Hello,
Clinton, correct me if I'm wrong about any of this.
Moderators of forums may post polls. You can see a few in the specialty forums, such as Seraphim Guard.
In my view (as Forge content moderator), polls are not consistent with the goals of the general forums. However, this is an "un-baked" view, and subject to discussion between me and Clinton. We can bake it pretty quickly, I think.
Best,
Ron
For what it's worth: Please, in the name of all that is holy, do not enable polls in the Forge.
I have to agree with Ethan. Polls are interesting for certain kinds of discussion, but not the sorts of discussion the Forge is intended for.
so then:
Pick 1:
0 -- Polls are NOT appropriate for The Forge
0 -- Polls are okay--but I never take 'em.
0 -- I'd like to see polls. Sometimes statistical data is good.
0 -- Polls NOTHING. Where's my Ignore List.
0 -- This sort of thing is OffTopic and NOT funny. Serious replies only, please.

Are those on purpose not numbered or is it ok like this?
Whatever, I'd like to see and use/address polls. I don't see what could be bad about it.
Polls are currently available, but can only be created by forum administrators.
The reason for this is that Ron and I independently agreed with each other, apparently. In setting up forum permissions, I've always set them that way because I dislike the idea of polls intensely.

Ooops, I am a bit confused: I am not sure I understand what this means by 100%. English is not my first so may I ask a further explanation?

No problem. Polls do not exist because Ron and I both have decided polls are a bad idea.
They are feasible, but I have shut down the ability to create them.
Here's an example of an old poll from the TROS Forum for those who are curious as to what they look like:

I think for the independent companies they might have some value for marketing or the like. In any case, I think that the current policy is apropriate given that I can't see a good use outside of that sort of thing.
