ALong with my friends, I run a convention - VeriCon (http://www.vericon.org) - that takes place Jan 30 - Feb 1st, 2004, and is lots of affordably kickassed fun. There will be some fun LARPs, and perhaps appearances by some independent game designers. Great!
So I like HeroQuest, and want to demo an HQ game at my convention, and I've been asked to demo it there too. However, I don't feel that *I* personally am experienced enough (as a GM or with HQ) to do it smoothly.
So is anyone interested in GMing a game of HeroQuest at the Con? Reply to the thread to ask about VeriCon itself or other specifics.
Well, I'm also willing to GM it, so let me know if you're interested in playing, too.
I would love to help out, having never been to Boston before, but finances are tight right now and I cannot afford to miss work. Any visit to a new city is worth taking extra time beyond the convention to sightsee.
I live in Boston and would love to help out.
My experience with HQ is relatively limited, unfortunately, so I might not be the best choice. Meaning - I've never GMed it before.
Dev - I'd be willing to either co-GM or act as "player liaison" if you wanted to shoulder the yoke yourself. Another brain to flip through the rules while you're narrating might not hurt.
Have you sent the info on the con to Issaries? I don't see anything on the Events page at http://www.glorantha.com/tribes/events.html.
(Sorry, exams kept me from responding right away.)
I guess Issaries hasn't put it up, but I hadn't confirmed our demo, in any case.
Deacon, if you're still game for GMing a small one-shot, by all means go for it! You can contact me at dev at hcs dot harvard dot edu to talk out some more specifics, but do let me know if you're interested!
