Title: Leather Armor for the Lower Body?
Post by: Morfedel on February 23, 2004, 04:39:55 PM
We were making characters saturday, when we notice something; there is leather armor in the books for the torso and arms, but what about the legs? and leather boots/gloves solid enough to count as armor? Weren't there leather protective gear for combat for the legs as well?

If so, what would be their costs and relevant attributes?

Thanks....

Well in the game I am playing in we treat leather as a standard 2 AV and that includes protection for the legs.

As for the price that's really up to you guys, as the items listed in the equipment lists and their prices are really just ideas, feel free to add other items and to vary prices to represent scarcity and surpluses. Personally I've thought of plenty of different helmets for a bigger range than the simple pot or full helm

The armor list just seems woefully short; surprising, considering the thrust of the game and the strong list of weapons.

I have wondered weather a full leather suit should have any penalties at all? Probably not, but....

No CP penalties, but you drop one dice when making sneak tests.

Hiya,

The thread Newbie armor questions (http://www.indie-rpgs.com/viewtopic.php?t=7813) might be interesting for you and your group.

Best,
Ron

There's a hugely expanded armor section in TFOB, along with some changes etc that I don't want to go into yet.

Brian.

We are paying attention.  You bastards (and I mean that in the most affectionate way) just keep taunting us with, "oh, that's in TFOB".....not fair....not fair... aaaaaaahahahaehechthfcch...!

Oh.  Sorry.  I feel better now...NT

The way we have been playing it is as follows;
soft leather gloves AV1
knee high treated leather boots boots AV2
then if other leather pieces came into it they were av 2 as well.

Funnily enough, there's more about bastardism in TFOB... ;-)
