Title: Possible useful tool for 9 Worlds & a question
Post by: Pilgrim on March 19, 2004, 03:01:58 PM
Matt,
I saw a listing for this and dug up a review and ordering information. I thought this might be useful as well, and I'm thinking of snagging a deck for my own use with 9 Worlds.

Review: http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/cards/olympus/review.shtml

It also includes links to images and ordering information.

Now, the question: Is there any chance of a revised draft any time soon reflecting your changes in recent posts?

Thanks, Pilgrim -- that tarot set is very cool.

As for the revised edition for playtest, I see it as a "bad news, good news" situation. Bad news is that, no, I don't think there will be a revised playtest ed. The good news is that the book will be done soon -- within two months.

You're welcome. And drat. I'll just have to be patient and wait for the finished product. How will you be making it available? rpgnow? Or some other form of distribution?

Thanks,

Nine Worlds will be available in print and PDF formats. PDF format likely will be released first. I will make it available from my web site (www.chimera.info/nineworlds/) and likely also at RPGnow.com.

The print edition will follow. My plan is a book similar to My Life With Master. It would be saddle-stitched, anywhere from 64-100 pages or so, and have a color cover.

FYI, I just put up a very tiny tidbit on the Nine Worlds site under Background. You can read a short excerpt from the setting chapter on the Titanomachy.

Go here www.chimera.info/nineworlds/  then click "Background." There, select the link for "2. Setting chapter excerpt - Titanomachy"

Title: Printing

Hey Matt -
What printing options have you looked at, and what do you use? I work at Kinko's, so have used my advantage there for publication of things I do. Also, i am up for seeing if I can get printing done cheaper without lost of quality for people, if you're interested. Of course shipping would have to be figured in for those who don't live in SF, CA.

Mathias,

I have looked at couple different options for 9W printing. The first, and most basic, would be an edition very similar to the current Dust Devils print edition. This would be a comb or spiral bound edition. In fact, I have used Kinkos to print up the covers, which are sedona red cardstock with a color cover printed on the higher-end Xerox press they have (can't recall the name right now).

The other option would be something very much like My Life WIth Master done through a company like Express Media. It would be saddle-stiched with a coated, color cover. This is slightly more expensive, of course.

Right now, I'm looking at combining both methods. For GenCon, it's possible I'll go the "kinkos" route for copies, then hopefully make some profit to help pay for a larger run using the second option. If you have any information about anything you can do at Kinkos, please let me know!
