Title: 2-H sword
Post by: newsalor on July 29, 2004, 05:12:38 PM
I just bought Burning Wheel #740 . . .

The game looks good, though there are a lot of minor details that would have needed some fixing. Anyway, I can't seem to find me a 2-H sword. What are their statistics? I assume that they can do the Great Blow.

See the table on page 194 and the top of page 232 of the rule book, and especially page 164, under Sword in the Character Burner book. :-)

Thanks.

Ah. So, I guess that a 2-H sword would be just like an axe, which is listed as being 2-handed. Thus, it would be insane to use a 2-H sword or at least as insane as it would be to use the axe. :)

Hmm, I guess that it has more reach. . .

BTW, I'm basing all this on the assumption that BW tries to be as believable as possible. You know, a sim game. If it does, then I have to say that it has succeeded in many respects.

Hi Newsalor,
two handed swords weren't common enough in use for me to include in the basic weapons list.

But here are some stats we cooked up:

R-o-M Zweihander: Pow 4, VA 1, WS Unwieldy, Striking Distance of 2 paces

SQ Zweihander: Pow 4, VA 2, WS Unwieldy, Striking Distance of 2 paces

thanks for your interest!
