Title: Guideline question
Post by: asdfff on September 01, 2004, 05:13:14 PM
Are we allowed to talk about card game design and "selected from-library game component games" rules theory? Like discuss the rules of different CGs, especially the new ones--Call of Cthulhu, Wars, spycraft--and maybe come up with our own, if we're looking into publishing one.
Title: Guideline question

Hi there,

And as I said in private message, welcome!

This site is dedicated to role-playing per se, but there might some ways to get CCG discussion going in a relevant context.

For instance, rules and procedures that were introduced mainly through CCGs just over a decade ago found their way into RPG rules very quickly, especially the idea that people didn't mind having a little pile of tokens to monitor. Or, for instance, suddenly focusing on resource management more than on probabilities of task success.

So I'd like to encourage you to focus on role-playing, but plenty of mechanics or contexts for CCG design and play are relevant to that.

Best,
Ron
