Title: Collaborative Roleplaying
Post by: GreatWolf on February 05, 2002, 12:56:15 PM
Chalk up another point for Places to Go, People to Be.  They posted this interview with Ian Millington on the concepts of collaborative roleplaying.  His website is www.collaborativeroleplay.org.  I haven't finished looking over his articles, but they seem to be must-reads for anyone interested in running Alyria. This article seems especially helpful.

Now I need to go read them myself.  :-)

It's interesting that Ian intends for his ideas to be used with a more traditional game. Which makes sense considering he hadn't even seen any of the designs from around here when he wrote his articles. Yes, I think his concepts will be particularly applicable for a game like Alyria. But they also make for interesting discussion about the applicability of these sorts of concepts to designing games that aren't as Avant Guard.

Is your GMing section going to include notes like this?

I'll have to do so.  Explanations on running the first session (laying out the storymap), doing scene transitions, cutting between characters, and running an non-party based game are absolute musts.

Oh, and I apologize for my lack of presence here.  My Real Life is very busy and stressful right now, and I haven't had a lot of time to post.
