Title: PBEM
Post by: Stickman on February 17, 2005, 03:44:04 AM
Tony,

have you had any experience running capes via email or an IRC style medium? How did it go?

I realise for reactions it's going to be slow going if email was used, just curiosity from someone who can't get playing Capes quickly enough :)

We did some playtesting over IRC, and while it was a little slow going we did make progress.

I don't know about email... it's a pretty PBeM-unfriendly game:  not so much that the reactions that do happen would slow things down, but waiting for the reactions that don't happen would kill you.  I'd be very impressed to see more than one action completed per day, which means maybe a page a week... maybe.

Well, it may be slow, but if anybody else is willing to take a stab at a PBEM Capes game, I know I am...

Well, after playing Capes at the weekend I know how slow this might be, but I'm happy to join in, I need me some more Capes goodness before the next session :)

I've created a Yahoo Group, "Center City Capes".  You can find it at:

http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/centercitycapes

Or I can add people manually, if you'll just PM me an email address to sign you up with.
