Title: Orphans of Chaos
Post by: Spooky Fanboy on December 05, 2005, 06:31:43 PM
Hey, kiddoes, looking for a little twist to your 9W games? Check out the interesting new book by Jon C. Wright, Orphans of Chaos (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0765311313/102-5746114-7815346?v=glance&n=283155). It has lovely little non-traditional nuggets of Greek myth fused with paradigms and superscience. The five protagonists could easily be young Archons. Check it out!

Cool! I'll check it out. I'll also recommend an oldie but a goodie: Richard Garfinkle's Celestial Matters (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0312863489/qid=1133825860/sr=2-1/ref=pd_bbs_b_2_1/104-3138037-1927109?s=books&v=glance&n=283155).

It's a hard SF book, but in a universe where Aristotelian physics are true.

blurb: Celestial Matters is a startling novel of hard SF in which the scientific beliefs of the ancient Greeks are literal fact. The empire of Alexander the Great has lasted a thousand years, and for a thousand years it has been at war with the empire of the Orient. Now a spaceship is traveling through the heavenly crystalline spheres to the sun to return with the ultimate weapon: a fiery piece of the sun itself.
