Title: 7 point Inspiration? How?
Post by: Matthew Glover on January 10, 2006, 05:25:45 PM
Tony,

Back in the 1 pt Inspiration (http://www.indie-rpgs.com/forum/index.php?topic=14359) thread, you said something that got my attention.

Yes they can.  Yes, it's very effective, by design.

I will offer an alternate use, which I think is more powerful even than the "bump to seven or more" use:  a 6-point Inspiration spent on your one die in a Conflict you don't intend to win (i.e. "Meteor destroys the city") is a very good way to draw Story Tokens.  People have to Stake in order to beat it.

How do you bump an Inspiration to seven or more?  And when you use it, how do you represent that seven on a d6?

Matthew

You're just misreading. He was talking about bumping a conflict's total to 7 or more with a 6 point Inspiration. (By Staking debt on it, splitting the dice, then rolling one of the dice and playing the 6 Inspiration on the other, you end up with a total somewhere between 7 and 12 inclusive)
