Title: [Btl] How would you set up Brisco County Jr and Dixie Cousins Romance
Post by: Bryan Hansel on January 08, 2007, 11:57:26 AM
We've been thinking about playing a game of Breaking the Ice with the characters of Brisco County Jr. and Dixie Cousins. In the TV show, the two protagonist's romance is always framed inside an adventure and not necessarily as a date. For example, Brisco heads to Mexico to stop some gun running. Dixie is there working for the other side. Trouble happens. The meet up with the rebels. They head separate ways but romance was developed.

Any ideas on how to do this with Breaking the Ice?

Hi Bryan,

Cool idea.  You might have the characters have a different conflict each time. It could be the villain of the moment, or their mission/issue for the episode. This focuses the plot on what's most important for each session.

And use them as an opportunity to bring the two together. Frex, for the session you describe, Brisco's conflict would be: "After gun runners in Mexico", Dixie's would be "Working for gun runners". Next session, depending on what happens Dixie's could be "Going to US to make contact for rebels", Brisco's could be "Ferreting out arms dealers supplying the Mexican rebels."

best,
Emily

Thanks, Emily. That seems simple, and the three dates structure emulates the three chapter structure of the show.

Cheers,
Bryan
