Title: [The Roach] Actual Play - When You're Smiling...
Post by: Uruush on January 24, 2007, 03:06:27 AM
Note: I didn't think this well-enough organized to post in the Actual Play forum but wanted to share since I'd been asking questions in preparation for the game:

When You're Smiling: http://nemomeme.livejournal.com/2286.html

Characters and pre-game thoughts for the session: http://nemomeme.livejournal.com/1865.html

Thanks for the game, Jason.  I don't know if there will be room at your table, or if I'll even be there in time, but I'll be coming out to Dreamation and am intrigued by Grey Ranks.

Cheers,

Matthew

Thanks for the AP and detailed analysis, Matthew - I think that would make a perfect AP post here at the Forge, by the way.

"The Faculty Senate Meeting when Professor L Scott Collins, armed with biology research from Stafford, rapidly punched Rajib twice in the solar plexus as a catalyst to expel the Roach from his turban." -- Priceless.

Your comments about the Reputation mechanic are well taken.  I think the game could work fine without it, but I also think it grounds and focuses play a bit.  And the deterministic smack-down at the end is absolutely normal and intentional, although not to everyone's taste.  I'm really glad you tried The Roach and had some fun with it.
