Title: [Pegasus] Old System Up for Perusal
Post by: greyorm on July 29, 2007, 03:16:14 PM
Back in the late/mid-90's (~'96-'97), I created a system I meant to be used as a generic platform for any genre of gaming. Wait, don't run away just yet! I meant the system to be able to handle any genre by being a platform for each group to develop its own game and even system of resolution/specialized mechanics based on what was important to the particular game/genre.

I never managed to go very far in the design, but I just recently started reading what I had put together and found the direction I was heading back then interesting and very in-line with what has happened in game theory and game design/philosophy of design in recent years.

The system is incomplete and what is there is far from perfect, the ideas are half-baked (and it shows) and strongly influenced by traditional game design (which was all I had known up until then). I've put the text up on the WHS website (http://wildhunt.daegmorgan.net/products/pegasus-gaming-engine/). Feedback isn't necessary, this is only really for purposes of historical interest.
