Title: [IaWA] Injury and Exhaustion
Post by: Michael Loy on October 11, 2007, 06:54:49 PM
Something I don't get:

Why does dice damage, when received, only damage 'endure duress' or 'exert yourself'?  Seems odd ... like, if I've just been shamed before the community, my instinct would be to hit 'assert yourself' or 'influence others'.

It also seems to create an tricky little tactical concern ... someone with two strong stats, one attached to 'endure duress' and one attached to 'exert yourself' is set up to last longer than anyone else, and there doesn't seem to be much of a reason for that, as far as balancing the importance of the endeavors.

I ran a game that let any endeavor be damaged, and it seemed to go fine, so I'm wondering what the rationale behind the rule was.

LOL, I just started to post asking same question.

FYI, this is for a PbP game to be run here:

Funnily, the exhaust/injure rule has survived all the rules developments since then, but the endeavors haven't.
