Title: Playtesting site goes live
Post by: iain on January 06, 2008, 10:46:45 AM
A little while ago, over on story games, I started a discussion about ashcans and what people felt they had got from them. One of the things that came out of that discussion was a desire on my part to help designers find people to playtest their games, and help groups willing to playtest find games. To that end I have setup a playesting site here:

Playtesting Site (http://www.playtesting.co.uk)

The site has several uses:

1) To help groups who are interested in playtesting find games they want to play

2) To help designers find groups willing to playtest their games

3) To provide advice on the playtesting process

4) To provide a friendly environment to discuss the games you've tested with the designers and to post actual play reports

There is a post at the top of the discussions page which any users should read. It lays out exactly what the site is about.

I hope to foster a certain amount of mutualism on the site: I playtest your game, you playtest mine.

I have never run this kind of thing before so I would ask some understanding in the initial months of the site as I find my feet. Any comments and feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I hope the site can help you all out with your game design.

All the best
