Title: TSOY PbP over on RPG.net
Post by: Nick the Nevermet on March 16, 2010, 01:13:03 PM
I've put up an interest thread for a TSOY Play-by-Post game over at RPG.net: http://forum.rpg.net/showthread.php?t=504421 (http://forum.rpg.net/showthread.php?t=504421)

Here's the OP:

I'm starting this thread to gauge interest in a TSOY game set in Near.

Beyond being awesome, it's awesome in a way I believe will be good at PbP. Also, as a plus, the game is available online for free. So if you don't have a copy, but you're wondering about it, you have no excuse

I'm willing to GM, though I'd be happy either running or playing.
I have three basic hooks in mind right now, which can be adjusted and tweaked as interest demands:

  • The Ratkin control the ruins of an ancient castle in Maldor. A Lord has arrived with his men, claiming it as his birthright. Caught between, as always, are the commoners. Factions can be found on all sides that are preparing for diplomacy and violence.
  • Slaves on an Ammeni plantation have successfully revolted. Many of the oppressors have been killed, some are captured. Now what?
  • There is a valley between Maldor and Ammeni called Sireap where the people keep no animals and alchemical weeds make beasts go insane before dying. Yet it is rich enough that a caravan is coming and will open it up to trade, by hook or by crook. Full disclosure: this is a section in the World of Near book that I wrote originally on the TSOY forum.
  • There is a new tribe in Khale claiming to be the Tribe of the Moon, and they have openly declared war on the Green and its traditional Khaleans. The Ammeni for their part are trying to figure out the angles on this new player, and the Ammeni Houses are at risk of fighting one another of what to do with the Tribe of the Moon.
If anything on that list sounds good, or if you have a hook you think would be fun, I would love to hear from you.

I don't think I'm breaking any rules with this thread.  If I am, I apologize.

Ha, this is quite nice! Do let us know how a PbP works, I haven't tried it myself with Solar System (or any other system for that matter, as far as I remember). Those are good scenarios, all.

Seems like the actual subforum at RPGnet is members-only. Shame.

I forgot about the members only thing.  My bad.
And as play unfolds, if it unfolds, I'll post it in actual play :)
